Short description: 
Nylon is a thermoplastic polymer made of crude oil through extensive chemical process. It is very flexible, yet strong and durable material.
Impact on the environment: 
High. Since it is not biodegradable it contributes to the plastic pollution. Additionally, every wash of nylon based clothing releases micro-plastics in the waterways.
Use: 
Nylon faber is used in clothing and carpets. Nylon resin and moulds in food packaging and in many mechanical parts. Nylon is also used in toothbrushes and other brushes as well as for fishing lines.

Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 510
What to look for? 
Econyl is a material made of regenerated waste and has the same qualities as virgin nylon. it can be recycled endlessly.
Did you know? 
Although Nylon is best known for women’s stockings its first commercial application was in the toothbrushes in 1939 in the USA.
