Short description: 
Wool is a textile fiber obtained from sheep or other animal’s coat/fleece
Impact on the environment: 
Low, as it is a renewable resource and sheep are in general low impact animals. However, always look for Organic Wool- produced in a sustainable way and not in mass production
Use: 
Clothing/footwear industry, home textiles, thermal and sound insulations, upholstery, carpeting and more

What to look for? 
When buying wool products research the brand’s certifications and processes of production to make sure the wool is harvested and treated in sustainable ways and in produced in fair working conditions.
Did you know? 
In the Slovak language, the word for wool is “vlna” which also means “wave”?
Wool consists of protein together with a small percentage of lipids and is produced by follicles in the skin? A wool fiber can be bent 20,000 times before breaking, whereas cotton breaks after 3,000 bends.
